A press brick factory in Bangkok’s Khao San Road district has been deemed the best location to work, according to a survey by the Association of Private Industry.
The association said that in 2017 the average salary of its members was 1,068,000 baht ($3,937) a month, more than triple the average wage of 1,000,000baht in 2016.
It said the average monthly wage is 3,400 bahts ($813) in the southern provinces of Thammasat and Koh Samui.
The survey was conducted by the association in partnership with Bangkok-based recruitment agency, Zephro.
The company, which does not provide salary figures, said the survey results were based on an online survey of 2,000 members and a survey of 500 more who have access to the same data.
Zephro said the most popular locations were in the Khao Samui district and in the northern parts of the city, where the average pay was 1.8 million bahtan ($1,764) a year, while the average in the central part of the province was 1 million bhtan ($4,921).
In the southern cities of Pattaya and Koh Phangan, the average was 1 billion bahta ($1.2 million), while in the capital, Bangkok, the pay was 2.4 billion bhta ($2.822).
The survey also revealed that the median age of its member was 37, and the average age was 35.
The number of vacancies was relatively high in the construction industry, with the average number of available positions at 7,500, with 1,200 vacant positions.
The association also found that there were no vacancies for managers or directors.
